Young dogs in need of new homes.
Owing to the sudden death of their owner, two young labrador bitches (9 months and 12 months) are in need of new homes. They are part trained and have “visited” a shoot, but not worked as such as far as is known. For further information, contact Stephen Hayes on 07970242701.

Six week programme of preliminary training for beginners (dog and/or handler) to be held at David Coode’s facilities on Sunday mornings from 26th February 2012. This is recommended to help to develop the basic disciplines needed as a precursor for the main training programme. Details here.

Achievements

Claire Raymond with Ft Ch Levenghyl Beetle on the 17th/18th October 2011 won the West of England 24 dog Open Stake and has qualified for the IGL Retriever Championships to be held in December at Nevill Holt, Leics.
Junior Member Mia Treadwell represented the Club at the Burghley Junior Handler event where 19 dogs were running. Mia won the event, dropping just 1 point over 2 days/6 tests with Nobsquinton Amy of Kestrelway (owned by Norman and Sandra Onens). Mia also achieved 4th with her own dog, Chandkelan Lysander Luke (Woody) which was the first time she had run him.
Anna Yates had further success with her Flatcoat puppy Ragley (Mendip Willow of Cleirwy) coming second in the FCRS Midland Area Special Puppy test at Fox Follies Farm, Wishaw on 7th May 2011.
Anna Yates and her dogs had success in the Flat Coat Retriever Society tests on Saturday 2nd April 2011. Rica (Cleirwy Pebble) came 4th in the SW Area Open test and Ragley (Mendip Willow of Cleirwy) came 3rd in the Puppy, in her very first test!
Club members had a successful day at the WGDS spring Retriever tests on at Church Lench Sunday 20th March 2011.
Claire Raymond and Levenghyl Beetle won the open tests, with John Jones and Greyhill Sash fourth. Norman Onens and Nobsquinton India of Kestrelway took a C of M.
Nigel Probert and Slipside Danzy Jones took first in the novice test, Claire Raymond and Levenghyl Torino were third, Penni Gregory and Callowhill Lily fourth. Mary Jarrod and Lilleburne Ripple Reed took a C of M. Nigel was also awarded the Mick Baker trophy for the highest points gained in either test.
Julia Redpath and Grace (Shuttifield Gracon) came 3rd at the Usk Valley Working Gundog Club Novice Stake on 27th November 2010. The trial was held at Sedbury. Chepstow. This was Julia’s 3rd trial.
Claire Raymond came 1st with Ft Ch Levenghyl Beetle (Jinks) at the Cheshire, Nth Wales and Shropshire One Day Open Trial held at Checkley on the 5th October, Won the Greenwood Challenge Cup at the SEGS two day Open Trial for the Best Retrieve, and came 1st at the Guildford Two day Open Trial on the 10th November, qualifying the dog for the Retriever Championships for the second year running. Both times she qualified the dog running as No 13 on the card. – Spooky!!
Kelly Stringfellow and Chandkelan Fritha Rose were second, and won the Gun’s award, at the Labrador Retriever Club Novice stake at Dunclent on 9th November 2010.
Following the successful training day with Wye Valley on 11th September Helen Goodwin and Tocatta Sorrel went on to win Coventry and Districts all aged cold game test on 12th September for the 3rd year running.
